Our Story
We started with one room and no particular plan
The studio began in 2016 with a single flat in Bermondsey and a client who wanted somewhere to read. There was no manifesto and there still is not one. What there is, after nine years, is a way of working that has held up: measure the building before you draw anything, spend the money on the things people touch, and leave out whatever the room does not need.
We are eleven people now, across two studios, and we take on about six projects a year. That number is deliberate. It is roughly what we can do without any of it being handed to someone who has not seen the building.
The work is split about evenly between houses and small hospitality — restaurants, guesthouses, a handful of workspaces. The two feed each other more than you would expect: hospitality teaches you what survives daily use, and houses teach you what people actually want to come home to.
